Student Hub
At the Dog Trainer Academy and National Skills Training Institute (NSTI), we are committed to helping every student achieve success through quality education, hands-on training, and a supportive learning environment. As a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO #41462), we uphold the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and learner care in accordance with the ASQA Standards for RTOs 2025. This means your learning experience is not only compliant and credible but also designed with your individual needs, wellbeing, and outcomes in mind.
Whether you’re studying at one of our specialist training facilities or completing your practical training in the workplace, NSTI is here to support you every step of the way. Our dedicated trainers, assessors, and student support team are committed to ensuring that you have access to the guidance, resources, and wellbeing services needed to achieve your qualification with confidence. We understand that every learner is unique — and we tailor our approach to help you succeed in your studies and transition into the workforce.
This Student Hub has been created as your central space for everything you need throughout your training journey. From accessing your learning platform and student policies to finding wellbeing support and key forms, this area connects you with all the tools and services available at NSTI. We’re proud to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that empowers you to learn, grow, and thrive — not just as a student, but as a professional entering the animal care and training industry with confidence.

The Student Handbook is your complete guide to studying with the National Skills Training Institute. It explains your rights and responsibilities as a student, the standards of conduct expected throughout your training, and NSTI’s commitment to delivering quality, compliant, and inclusive education. Inside, you’ll find information about assessment requirements, attendance expectations, appeals and complaints processes, workplace health and safety, privacy, and academic integrity. The handbook also outlines what support services are available to you, ensuring that you know how to access help whenever needed. It is an essential reference for understanding how your course operates and how NSTI maintains a positive, fair, and professional learning environment.
Before you can begin your studies with the Dog Trainer Academy – National Skills Training Institute (RTO 41462), you are required under Australian Government regulations to complete an Application to Enrol. This is the first and most important step in the enrolment process for any nationally recognised qualification.
The Application to Enrol form gathers your personal details, course selection, and identification information so that NSTI can assess your eligibility and prepare your official enrolment in accordance with the Standards for RTOs 2025 set by ASQA. It also ensures that NSTI can accurately record your training information within the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system and meet all government compliance requirements.
Once your application has been reviewed, our team will contact you with the next steps to complete your enrolment, including your LLND assessment, final enrolment confirmation, and access to the NSTI Learning Portal.
The Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment is a short, practical activity that helps NSTI understand your current foundation skills before training begins. This process is part of the Standards for RTOs 2025, which require all training organisations to identify learner needs and provide equitable access to education. The LLND assessment is not a test or a barrier to entry; it simply helps us recognise if you might benefit from additional support in reading, writing, maths, or computer use. This allows NSTI to personalise your learning experience, ensuring you have the tools, guidance, and confidence to successfully complete your qualification.
The Funding Eligibility Forms are used to determine whether you qualify for government-subsidised training through programs such as Career Start (Queensland) or Smart and Skilled (New South Wales). Completing these form allows NSTI to confirm your eligibility and apply the correct co-contribution fees or subsidies in accordance with government training contracts. This ensures transparency, compliance, and fair access to funded training opportunities. The forms also helps identify your residency status, age group, schooling or employment background, and previous qualifications so that NSTI can match you with the most appropriate funding pathway for your individual circumstances.

The Dog Trainer Academy understands that education is an important investment in your future, and we are committed to making it accessible and affordable for everyone. Our Payment Plan Options allow students to spread their course fees into smaller, manageable instalments over the duration of their study. This flexibility supports learners who may not be eligible for government funding or who prefer to budget gradually. Each plan is designed in compliance with RTO financial transparency requirements and includes clear payment schedules, no hidden fees, and ongoing support from our finance team. By offering flexible options, the Dog Trainer Academy ensures that financial barriers do not prevent students from achieving their educational goals.
